Launched at the end of last year as a non-profit organisation akin to the British Fashion Council, the new British Beauty Council aims to represent the voice, opinions and and needs of the industry.Louise Scott, chief scientific officer at Avon will join the British Beauty Council board as Avon’s representative.

Avon has long been a leader in supporting women in business and has a huge amount to bring to the table as it moves forward through significant transformation.”Avon said the partnership highlights its efforts to drive innovation and support inclusivity as part of its ‘Open Up’ strategy. The organisation has been set up to recognise the industry’s contribution to the UK economy, build beauty as a career choice and driving excellence in areas such as formulation, manufacturing, supply, and packaging.
